Quality, not quantity

There are various standards in place that make this service more popular then it may seem. If some members don't sign in for awhile, then the owner of this service is likely to remove that account. Sure, there could be a lot more profiles, but the point is to have this service for people that want to use it, not just to have it look popular.

The service fee

That's the big one for some people. There is and isn't one. You don't have to subscribe to contact members, but that is only if a subscribing members writes you first. This means that if a subscriber writes to you, you can freely reply. You can have a profile with a photo, or without a photo for that matter, and not pay anything. But if you want to break down and contribute a little financially you can write any members you feel like and they can reply to you for free.
